About Kirylin

Kirylin is a Jane-of-all-Trades. A netizen for the past ten years, Kirylin is represented online by several blogs, two writing accounts, a jewelry shop, an artistic account, and a handful of Web 2.0 apps.

Kirylin’s passion is teaching. She is the math teacher most of the kids hope they get, and the writing teachers all of the kids hope they don’t get (but bring their papers to when they want a thorough edit). Kirylin’s teaching style is a blend of questioning and hands-on strategies designed to make the student think about and be confident in their answers, and she’s pleased that students are starting to internalize this process for themselves.

Kirylin is looking to move into educational media. Her fascination with informal learning, interactive media, and educational gaming are pushing her to try to get her foot in the door in the industry. Her past experience as a curriculum developer in the museum world leaves her poised and ready to tackle any K-12 project that might cross her desk.

When Kirylin isn’t teaching, she’s still teaching. Kirylin spends her free time honing her craft as a writer and editor. She’s exploring the possibilities of becoming a freelance writer, and offers her free time editing and instructing teenagers trying to craft fan fiction. Her regulars adore her work, often flooding her inbox with editing requests.

As if being a teacher, K-12 course designer, writer, and editor weren’t enough to keep our intrepid heroine busy, she likes to sit back with an array of wire and beads and whip them into jewelry designs that have been complimented for their professional appearance, creative designs, and delicate, yet strong appearance.

When she gets through all of that, Kirylin loves to read, watch cartoons, and dance. She also enjoys playing video and computer games when she gets the opportunity. As of October 28, Kirylin is a yellow belt in Shaolin Kempo.

Kirylin currently resides in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
