Fun uses for a d20
The d20, or the twenty-sided die, is well-known to gamers. This little bundle of joy has helped many a gamer take down insignificant creatures and get squashed into the afterlife by really big monsters. Gamers tend to have something of a love-hate relationship with this die as a result. Most of the ones I know keep at least two handy so that when one starts rolling poorly, they can switch to the other. (Gamers are a bit superstitious.)
Many gamers also use a d20 to keep track of their life points in TCGs, and as building blocks when they’re impatiently waiting for their turn to be smacked around by the nearest dragon.
Gamers can generally find a number of uses for the d20.
That said, a d20 isn’t just for the gamers anymore. A child who has mastered the basic math facts can give themselves a good challenge by rolling a pair and multiplying or adding the numbers together (depending on the child’s skill level). A knitter can use one to keep track of her rows (provided she’s not keeping track of more than 20 rows). d20s are also amazingly fun to spin like tops.
Try it yourself. Get a d20 (or a few), and see how many ways you can apply it to your own life.
