NaNoWriMo 2007 is over

I feel a bit silly saying that, as it ended for me a week ago.

My goal this time around was to write two books- specifically the two books that ended up intertwined in last year’s NaNo attempt. I successfully wrote the first book by November 13.

Then life intervened, as it always does in November during odd numbered years. I probably could have forced myself through the majority of the book anyway, but I really felt it was more necessary to seriously step up my job search and focus on smaller tasks that could conceivably bring in some money to offset the hours I’ve been losing at work.

I did, at least, make it just shy of 10,000 words into the second book. I guess I’ll be writing that one out in the spring after the first book has been through a couple of editing rounds.

Eventually, both books will be appearing on Fiction Press, where the original version of the first book still hides. Watch Twitter for an announcement when they are posted!

I’ve been very grateful this year to the support my friends have given me. This has quite possibly been the most support I’ve had in a single November since I started in 2002. You guys have been awesome!
