Kind of a let-down after last week
No quotes this week, but I did manage to save a few links for your viewing pleasure!
Let’s start with DM of the Rings, which I’ve barely started reading. It’s essentially what would happen if the LotR novels had been an actual D&D game (with the understanding LotR was a major influence on the creation of D&D. I’m sure I’ll be reading this one during my down times next month.
Creative-type Wil Wheaton linked to a very talented artist, and I still need to go through and look at everything.
The last link I’ve been sitting on for days now. I remember about a year or so ago there was some “exciting” news coming out of Japan that some company was working toward making voice actors obsolete because they are apparently the most expensive part of any anime production (paying the actor for his or her time, renting the studio space, etc). The company was working on making a human-sounding computer voice. Well, I don’t know if any seiyuu should worry just yet, but apparently there is a computer-generated singer on the scene now. While the music is good (even if it’s not my style), I think a computer is just as capable of replacing performers as they are of replacing teachers. Both kind of require a certain quality that is uniquely human.
And that’s the news….or at least the leftovers from Kiry’s aggregator!
