Who am I?

My design notebook is filling up rapidly with ideas on how to redesign my web presence, which is in desperate need of the overhaul. I need to figure out what my goals are for both here and Rebecca Thomas Designs, and I need to consolidate my web presence as much as I can to these two sites so I’m not always sending people off-site.

The main problem, though, is really figuring out what to do with Rebecca Thomas Designs. It started its existence four years ago as one Blogspot blog that had three categories: CareerNiche, DesignNiche, and EducationNiche. Within six weeks, I’d moved it into three Typepad blogs, each category getting its own blog and a set of categories all its own. I’d have to look to see when the site moved through Drupal to WordPress, but it was Drupal-based when I added JewelryNiche, and in its current form when I added WritingNiche.

It wasn’t like having five different personalities because they all were things I was actively working on and doing…until I wasn’t, or at least not in their original forms. The site has failed to grow as I’ve worked toward trying to sort myself out professionally.

Because Kirylin’s Voice focuses more on who I am after hours, it’s been able to follow me as I’ve moved form being a statue to reconnecting with parts of myself, but it’s still not a fair representation of who I am, either.

There is going to be a lot of sorting and condensing going on as I try to make both sites better reflect me, and I just hope I’m ready for it!
