Preparing for my next great adventure
With my great trek to the Pacific Northwest ten days away, I find myself starting to think about packing. I’ve even started panicking about packing.
This trip is going to be such a learning experience for me. It’s my first time in that area of the country. I’ve wanted to visit Washington and Oregon for a long time, and now I’m finally going! I’m so excited! I’m going to meet people that I’ve only known online. I’ve never done that before with people not in
Other firsts are less exciting, but no less interesting for me. I now own a set of real luggage. Suitcase, carry-on and this strange little bag. I have spent much of my adult life shuttling back and forth bewtween here and Colorado, and only now do I have real luggage. It’s such a funny thought. I’ve also decided to give packing cubes a try. I’ve always been curious, but now I’m going to explore them and see if they’re a good idea for me. It’s completely silly, but it does add to my excitement and enthusiasm for this trip.
So, far, I’ve packed books for one friend, another’s birthday present, and I’ve started packing crafts. The one thing I don’t really like about the new airport security rules is that it really hinders what crafts I can take forthe flights and the layovers. Right now, I’m relegated to writing. However, in my suitcase, I shall have my jewelry tote and a needlepoint project! I’ve debated whether or not to pack a third project, but it sounds like I’m going to be enjoying a tourist’s life. Besides, I’ll have my laptop. If i get truly bored, I’ll start designing new wares for my CafePress store!
I may also work on some of my profit centers while I’m up there. I imagine my sleeping schedule will be a bit different from my hosts, and will give me time to sit and work on my plans. Then, when I get home, I’ll be ready to pack up and move.
This really is an exciting time for me!
